The Boise Fire & Police Trust (BF&PT) has four plans available for Police Officers, and their dependents, that are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Dependents are defined as your spouse and/or dependent children up to the age of 26. You may select the plan and level of coverage which best meets the needs of you and your family members. Coverage begins the 1st of the month after date of hire.
Special Enrollment Periods
Once an employee and dependent(s) are enrolled in the health plan, changes can only be made once a year during open enrollment or under special circumstances. Qualifying events such as the birth or adoption of a child, loss of other coverage, marriage, divorce, etc. have special enrollment periods. Employees wishing to add or change dependents may do so, in most cases, within 30 days of the qualifying event.
