Decreasing Term Life Insurance
Optional life insurance is available at a flat rate for the entire family through NCPERS (the National Conference of Public Employee Retirement Systems). This benefit is offered through PERSI and would be in addition to any city-provided life insurance available to you. Employees and their dependents are covered under a decreasing term life plan with accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Coverage is guaranteed and no health questions are asked.
Enrolling in Coverage
The NCPERS plan is available to non-temporary employees working 20-hours or more a week. Enrollment into the plan can occur within 30-days of hire or during the NCPERS open enrollment period each year.
